Soldier raid Abuja black spot two persons died while many others were injured during a security operation by a detachment of soldiers at Dagba, Abuja, a notorious joint where hard drugs are allegedly being sold. Though details of the incident were sketchy as of the time of filing this report, our correspondent gathered that the soldiers had visited the area apparently to arrest some crime suspects, but the situation got out of hand leading to the shooting of two persons.

Oyo state landlord and resident of Onilu-Amuro Community, Adegbayi-Olode, in Egbeda Local Government Area of Oyo State, have appealed to the Oyo State government and the local government authorities to rescue them from perpetual darkness and deplorable state of the road network in the neighbourhood.

According to the report 11 people lost their lives while several others sustained varying degrees of burns after a tanker laden with petrol burst in flames around Molete Market, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. An employee of the  Nigerian Tribune , Mr. Samson Oyewole, and an eight year-old girl were among the victims of the fire which burnt 45 shops at the market on Saturday night. Although Oyewole was fortunate not to have died, eyewitnesses told  PUNCH Metro  learnt that the death toll could be as high as 15.
