The Nigerian Army should pardon the 12 soldiers who had been convicted for mutiny. Our military leadership should temper justice with mercy. Although the soldiers should have known the consequences of their action, it is however, too late to blame them. In my opinion, what they protested against was justified. They were angry that their General Officer Commanding (GOC) was sending them to their deaths without providing them with enough weapons to fight the insurgents. The soldiers knew if they were killed, their families would suffer. We all know the situation of things in Nigeria; families of late servicemen who had served the country are made to go through hell before their benefits could be paid. This is part of what the soldiers thought before that reaction against their boss. It would be greatly unfair if the sentence is carried out.
