Castle Rock man involved in major wire theft-Get one-year sentence

A Castle Rock man convicted of selling $19,000 worth of stolen, specialized wiring was sentenced to a year and a day in prison.

Andrew Scott Rismoen, 27, was sentenced Tuesday for first-degree trafficking in stolen property and is currently being held at the Cowlitz County Jail.

Cowlitz County sheriff’s deputies in September arrested Rismoen and Benjamin Charles Jennings, 29, of Toutle on suspicion of selling copper-coated, magnetic wiring to a recycling center. The wiring belonged to Vancouver-based Rotschy Inc. and was stolen earlier from a construction site near Cowlitz County’s Headquarters Landfill.

A restitution hearing for Rismoen is scheduled for Jan. 12.
