NAPTON joins fight against fake drugs

The National Association of Pharmacy Technologists and Technicians of Nigeria has said it will collaborate with relevant stakeholders in the health sector in the war against fake drugs.
The Chairman of NAPTON, Cross River State chapter, Mr. Henry Tita, said this in Calabar in his acceptance speech after the chapter’s election.
He said, “I also dedicate this victory to late Prof. Dora Akunyili for what she believed in, and together with members of my association, we will fight to eradicate fake drugs in our society.”
Tita noted that the association was the technical arm of the pharmacy profession, urging related associations not to undermine its importance.
He called on the Cross River state government to accord NAPTON due recognition to allow for industrial harmony.
Also, the State Chairman of Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, Mr. Andem Usua, spoke in the same vein, saying the association should be allowed to play its part in fighting drug faking.
